Legal Advisor
As Legal Counsel for the Giacometti Foundation, I provided comprehensive legal support across all departments, managing a wide portfolio that included contracts for partnerships, patronage, licenses, exhibitions, and artist agreements. My core responsibilities centered on art market law, intellectual property management (copyrights, trademarks), and the critical fight against forgery.
A significant and sensitive aspect of my role involved risk management and pre-litigation. I was responsible for reporting directly to the committee on pre-conflictual affairs and conducting in-depth analyses of potential forgeries in close collaboration with the foundation's in-house experts. This required meticulous legal analysis and the creation of processes for authentication and dispute resolution.
My work ensured legal compliance and protected the foundation's integrity through contractnegotiation, insurance matters, and strategic lobbying. This position demanded a high degree of autonomy and versatility in navigating the complex legal landscape of art authentication and intellectual property.
